Hack in the box Seminar on Telecom Fraud .
Here is my quick report on today September 04 – 2007. Kuala Lumpur. Malaysia. Hack in the box conference.
I was lucky enough to follow one of the seminars of HITB 2007 (hack in the box 2007). Thanks Dillan ! It is all happening right now in the Hilton hotel (mostly level 6 and 8) in a very posh environment. Small groups of IT-security and Telecom-experts attending the different seminars. Great event if you are into the specifics of this industry. There are different course tracks to follow. All neatly organized topic per topic.
I learned quite some interesting things (not directly for public disclosure) in the seminar on the matter of prevention and detection of Telecom Fraud. As given by C.L. (Belgian ).
Overal it is a very well organized event. And the lunch at the Hilton Kuala Lumpur (near KL Sentral) was great !
Kind of peaceful too (perfect for the seminars, no overcrowding here…)
Tomorrow there is the conference on which a bigger crowd is expected. I am looking forward to those keynote speeches Lance Spitzner - Honeypots Today and Tomorrow / Mikko Hypponen - Online Crime and Crime Online / Mark 'Phiber Optik' Abene - The Rise and Fall of Information Security in the Western World / Emmanuel Goldstein - The Evolution of Hacking.
